After 5 years of collecting, I am starting to combine my weather equipment into a functional set of data recording. I recently obtained an old computer left over at my parents house and will be using that to run a couple of different pieces of software. This is what my entire weather station consists of: My weather station is in the process of receiving an upgrade. I picked up the LaCrosse Weather Station back in February with the hopes of sending data to the Weather Underground website. I have always been interested in weather and thought that this would be one of the best ways to keep track and update others on what was happening in my area. I have been hoping to link everything together in a standalone system for sometime now but have been unsuccessful at finding the time to get things organized. With the school year ending soon, I plan on spending a couple of nights installing and configuring the setup so that I can broadcast weather out to the world. My end goal is to join the Citizens Weather Observer Program and keep statistics for the rest of the world to see. Here are a couple of links that offer more information on CWOP , APRS and Weather Spotting.
